Two Rollover Crashes on I-79 Near McKean Exit

State police responded to two separate rollover accidents on I-79 Friday afternoon. The crashes happened just before 3 p.m. in the northbound lanes near the McKean exit, less than a mile apart.

Thankfully, no one was injured in either accident, and police say the two incidents did not appear to be related. However, officers at the scene believe that hydroplaning on wet roads may have played a role in both crashes.

As crews worked to clear the wreckage, traffic was restricted to one lane. Drivers in the area experienced delays until the vehicles were safely removed and the lanes reopened.

These accidents serve as an important reminder to slow down during wet weather and stay alert for changing road conditions. Even a small amount of standing water can cause a vehicle to lose traction and roll over.
