Absolut Care Westfield Closure Impacts 93 Workers This Fall

The Absolut Care Westfield facility in Chautauqua County is set to permanently close on October 20. The long-term care center, located on Cass Street in Westfield, recently filed a WARN notice with the state, confirming that 93 employees will be impacted.

The announcement of Absolut Care Westfield’s closure comes just over a year after workers at the facility ratified a two-year labor agreement. That contract included staff at three other Absolut Care locations in Allegany, East Aurora, and Orchard Park—all of which will remain open.

Last year, the Westfield, Allegany, and East Aurora facilities experienced a change in ownership, but only Absolut Care Westfield is being shut down.

The closure leaves many employees and residents facing uncertainty. With 93 workers affected, it marks a significant loss for the local workforce.

Absolut Care Westfield has been a part of the community, and the news of its closure is raising concern among families, staff, and local officials alike.

As the October deadline approaches, those connected to Absolut Care Westfield are working through a challenging transition.
