Emergency crews rushed to the Interstate 90 eastbound bridge over Six Mile Creek in Harborcreek Friday evening after a tragic incident. Around 6:45 p.m., a woman reportedly jumped from the bridge and fell into the gorge below.
State police and Harborcreek firefighters responded quickly, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Erie County coroner said she appeared to be between 40 and 50 years old. She had no identification on her, making it difficult to confirm who she was.
A passing driver witnessed the fall and alerted authorities. The area where the incident occurred is known for its steep drop-offs, which adds risk during emergencies like this.
