The ANNA Shelter is turning to the public for help after taking in 50 animals from a heartbreaking neglect case at a local farm. Over several days, the shelter, with help from the Equine Center and Pennsylvania State Police, rescued 26 cats, four dogs, 10 horses, and 10 cattle, all needing serious medical treatment.
Many of the cats are struggling with painful dental disease, severe parasite infestations, and malnutrition. Meanwhile, the horses and cattle have sustained foot damage that will need long-term care and specialized treatment.
Shelter staff say the animals are now receiving the attention they urgently need, but some remain in critical condition. Their recovery will take time, patience, and resources.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the situation remains under investigation.
The shelter is asking for support from the community. They are in need of canned cat food and gift cards from Tractor Supply or Amazon, which can be dropped off or emailed. Financial donations are also welcomed through the ANNA Shelter website.
